Podium Insurance Brokers is an independent Lloyd’s market intermediary founded in 2024, specialising in bespoke insurance solutions for high-value and specialist risks. With a foundation built on both motorsport experience and technical insurance expertise, we provide advisory-led coverage that bridges the gap between performance, precision, and protection. Our team works closely with private and commercial clients — from professional drivers and teams to collectors and business owners — delivering discreet, tailored risk management through the strength and reach of the Lloyd’s and London markets

Meet the team

  • Chief Executive Officer

    James started his insurance career in London in 2017 after relocating from New Zealand, where he had spent eight years pursuing a professional racing career. Initially working in Aviation Claims and International Property Underwriting, he seized the chance in 2021 to merge his insurance expertise with his motorsport passion by leading the Motorsport division at Carroll & Partners. This experience led him to co-found Podium Insurance Brokers with Clement Novalak.

  • Head of Business Development

    Clément Novalak rose through the ranks from international karting to FIA Formula 2, gaining invaluable firsthand insight into the risks faced by drivers, teams, and high-value asset owners. In 2024, he channelled this experience into the insurance sector by co-founding Podium Insurance Brokers with James Blair, combining deep motorsport knowledge with specialist expertise in high-value and complex risk management.
